Scooter Prize Dominates In Party Girls Stakes on Saturday

BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 31, 2015—It was a 'Party For One' when Scooter Prize, under mild urging from jockey David Alvarez, went wire-to-wire to defeat Tf Eyes R Struttin by three-quarters in the $25,000 Party Girl Stakes at Harrah's Louisiana Downs racetrack Saturday afternoon.

The 4-year-old daughter of First Prize Perry completed the 350 yards in :17.440 seconds, a 103 speed index, to get her second straight stakes victory. The Party Girl Stakes was her first start since winning the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Derby at the Fair Grounds December 13.

Martin Trejo saddled the sorrel miss to her eighth career win for owner Ana Alvidrez. Bred by John Leger, from the A Royal High mare Royal Baby Scooter, Scooter Prize's record stands as (23) 8-5-3. The $15,000 winner's purse boosted her earnings to $234,845.

Louis Johnson, Jr.'s Tf Eyes R Struttin earned $5,000 for his effort. Lanny Keith conditions the 4-year-old. Patrick Watson was riding the Steve State Louisiana-bred earner of $67,775.

Also trained by Keith, Miss Runaway Dash stepped up from a $10,000 winning tag at Evangeline Downs last December to earn her black-type with in a third place finish. The filly, owned by Tate Farms, finished 1˝ lengths back under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr. The $2,750 payday boosted her earnings mark to $52,779. Gerald Palin bred the 4-year-old.

Jess A Martin was fourth. Stakes winner Sandra Sue Blue finished fifth but as disqualified and placed last for interference. ShesaDashingromance and Bipty Dash were fifth and sixth.
